A very good presentation by a man who is clearly well educated in his field. In my opinion, Dr. Gallagher overcomplicates Lee's motivations with his "layers of loyalty" approach. Lee himself said quite simply that his ultimate decision was determined by his unwillingness to raise a sword against his own people. Being Virginia aristocracy, Lee had an absolutely massive spiderweb of relatives and friends throughout Virginia. Who among us would be willing to wage war against our family, friends, and neighbors?

Net of immigration, census records show the slave population grew slightly faster than the free population between 1840-1850. This suggests that whites and blacks were living in roughly equal conditions, once outside of the big house. Slavery is a great evil, but the objective mortality evidence does not support the belief that the average white had it far better than the average slave.

Solid interview. There's indeed a greater diversity of lakes in FL than even i realized, thought it was only rivers that had somewhat stark differences. So far personally having kayaked some or good amount of Panasofkee, little lake santa fe, lake kissimmee, & hillsborough river resovoir among the most notable. Even with stressors & concerning trends perhaps, still support complex intact ecosystems. But yeah, I can only imagine what it must have been like even just being along the shore of FL lakes or rivers hundreds of years ago...

You seem like a sweet person and I hope love and happiness for you. I trust that there will be not a few young women who will meet you and together you will find a way to be engendered together that will feel right to you both with each of you expressing the best of your femininity and masculinity to each others in ways that will work wonderfully just as you seem to have a great playful ease with your band mates that you value. As a gay man -- please don't spend your time reclaiming F-G or using it no mater how prosaically with friends .there are more and more people though few of them gay men or queens and working girls who seem to be involved in this reclamation effort instead we tend to use it as Viscously as it was ever used when we do. but there is never a time that this word has any other meaning in our sociaty than something that dehumanises gay men. as much as you use it for something else it is always operating acording to that negative meaning in relation to homosexual men and boys and you all can find ways that involve no such meanings to express whatever it is you find yourself able to express using that term. And if part of what you mean is that hey none of us are leering at each other because none of us are atracted to men and that feels good rioght now then i guess just say that-- not that you seem to want to bei saying that i just use it as an example.

It's funny how these niggas affiliated with these federally recognized tribes think they're more stamped than other niggas who ancestors didn't sign up on the rolls because they didn't want to be on a prison yard. They think the white man's blood quantum rules is the normal way to link to a tribe 😂. Only animals are classified by blood quantum. I'll never let anyone disrespect me and my ancestors like that just to be recognized by white people and get some free benefits. Tribal id cards 🪪 are for government records and you become federal property upon registration. So all members of federally recognize tribes and reservations are government owned. The weak conquered Indians went on reservations. The white man is not going to make a deal with his enemies think about it. All the warrior rebels went into slavery, died or got their land took and name's changed to colored and Negros.
